Pomona Transit Stations: Choosing a Route Around Town

Three distinct stations serve the Pomona and Fairplex area: Pomona–Downtown, La Verne/Fairplex and Fairplex. Their names are easy to mix up, so match the station to the rail service you need rather than treating them as interchangeable stops.

Pomona–Downtown is a Metrolink station. La Verne/Fairplex is on Metro’s A Line, and the separately named Fairplex station is a Metrolink stop with service on fair days only. Pomona-North is another Metrolink station in the city, at 205 Santa Fe Street, but it is not one of the three stations compared here.

Pomona–Downtown serves the Riverside Line, La Verne/Fairplex serves the A Line, and Fairplex has fair-days-only Metrolink service.

Pomona–Downtown

The Riverside Line began service at Pomona–Downtown on February 5, 2001. That history identifies the line serving the station, but it does not establish current train times or operating days. Check Metrolink’s current timetable when planning a trip.

La Verne/Fairplex

La Verne/Fairplex is an A Line station in La Verne. Metro timetable information has identified parking there and connections with bus routes 81 and 182, but those details can change; confirm current station information with Metro before setting out.

Fairplex

Fairplex is a separate Metrolink station from La Verne/Fairplex. Its address is 2284 East Arrow Highway, La Verne, California 91750, and service is for fair days only, so it is not a general substitute for the other stations.

Fairplex is about 56 minutes away on foot from Travelodge by Wyndham Fairplex Pomona, a Pomona base for reaching Fairplex.

Those are travel times to separate stations, not a connection between them. Choose your station based on the line and service pattern first, then plan your trip.

Check current service details with Metro or Metrolink before choosing a station, because current fares, schedules and service days vary by stop. Metrolink updates its timetables every fall and spring and offers mobile ticket purchases through its ticketing website and app.

For A Line travel, verify current service and connections directly with Metro. The bus connections and parking information can be useful starting points, but check the operator’s current station details rather than relying on older timetable information.
